Griffintown

October 31, 2016 § 2 Comments

I just recently received the cover art for my forthcoming book, Griffintown: Identity & Memory in an Irish Diaspora Neighbourhood.  It will be published in May 2017 by the University of British Columbia Press.  To say I’m stoked is a minor understatement.  The art work is by my good friend and co-conspirator on many things Griff, G. Scott MacLeod.

Often the artwork is forgotten, when selling a book. I’m not sure if you had anything to do with the artwork for your book, but someone deserves kudos. It’s one of the better ones I’ve seen in a long time. Completely ties i to your work

    • Thanks. I did have input, in that I suggested Scott’s images for the cover, and I specified no green on the cover. The hyphen was also a negotiation, it was originally blue, I didn’t like it, I think it’s superfluous, but they at least changed the colour.
