Staging an Imagined Ireland

In anticipation of my book, Griffintown: History & Memory in an Irish Diaspora Neighbourhood being published by University of British Columbia Press in May, I wrote an article for the Wilson Institute for Canadian History at McMaster University’s new blog, Au delà des frontières: La nouvelle histoire du Canada/At the Frontier: New Canadian History. You can read ‘Staging an Imagined Ireland’ here.
Can’t wait to read this. Maybe you could give a talk on this at the next Bloomsday Festival or at some time during 2017. Will keep in touch. Dave Schurman
I’d love that. I need a Montreal launch for the book, too. But I’d love to come back to Bloomsday.
Hi, Matthew. So happy to hear you’ll have your book on Griffintown published. Also, that the documentary on Griffintown will be ready. Are you coming to Montreal for any of this? Bloomsday is taking place from June 10 to 16, 2017 and we’d love you to be involved if you’re here. Judith Schurman
Judith, Dave asked the very same question yesterday. I’d love to make my way home for Bloomsday, both with the book and to really see how it’s grown since 2012. I will be in Montreal at some point this spring/early summer, I need to do a Montreal book launch. But I haven’t given much thought to that quite yet.
